The El Dorado Archers are proud to offer archery classes to the community. These classes are held on Saturdays. Classes may be canceled due to weather, other area events that shut down the archery range, and some holidays (please see calendar for closures).
The classes run on a set schedule. It is always wise to check the calendar on this website or our Facebook page for correct times. All classes (Please see below for safety class information) are first come first served, so it is recommended to show up a few minutes before your class time. If we run out of equipment you will be asked to come back and try for next weekend's class. While the classes and instructions are free there is a $5 equipment rental fee. Please see below for safety class information.
Classes are one hour and twenty minutes long. You must have your safety card on you to take the beginning or advanced classes.
The safety class is held at 11:45 am on Saturdays and is open to anyone eight years old and up. We only have 15 spots available, and you must sign up the morning of the session (groups of 5 people or more will not be allowed to join the safety class. They must reach out to us and schedule a group lesson). The sign up sheet is available at 9:00 a.m., however if we are ready to open the sign up before this time and there are 15 people already waiting then we will allow them to sign up and not wait for 9:00 am. Once we have 15 names on the list the class is closed. Due to the popularity of the program, it is very important you show up first thing in the morning around the time we open to sign up or more than likely the class will be full and you will be turned away. Roll call is at 11:45 sharp. If you are not present anyone waiting for no shows will get your spot. The safety class involves introductions, safety rules, equipment distribution, and shooting time. You must pass this class and receive your safety card before attending the beginners' class.
You will be required to fill out and sign our waiver form, downloadable here, before taking any classes.
If you own your own archery equipment please see our FAQ.
While we offer classes for all skill levels and the instructors are proficient in many styles of archery, the primary form that is taught is Olympic-style archery. If you wish to be taught a different style, you must pass the beginners class and seek guidance from one of the coaches.
